Rangel Defiant In Face Of Ethics Allegations

Congressman Charlie Rangel says he looks forward to rebutting allegations from a House panel that it has “substantial reason to believe” he broke House ethics rules on a range of issues. Rangel, a New York Democrat from Harlem, is scheduled to appear before an ethics subcommittee on Thursday. Another subcommittee has been looking into wide-ranging allegations that he misused his office for personal advantage. Rangel has served in Congress for 40 years and has never won an election with less than 87 percent of the vote.
